Reflections -8 June 2009.

Plans for this week – Pick up my glasses, lots of driving to the theater, housework, getting closer to the end of the school “year”.

.
I am wearing – comfy pants and a t-shirt

I am feeling – very tired

I am hearing – the sizzle of the waffle maker

I am thankful for – coffee, especially this morning

I am wondering – how GuitarGirl will hold up this week

I am contemplating – the Trinity

In prayer – Emily, Matthew Karol, CarKiller, SoldierBoy,GoofyAl,Chief’s job stuff,UK Homeschoolers,

The Family

Chief: Is still doing “busy work” at the old job. He is grateful to be employed, but hates the work he has to do. Can’t wait to hear about that job.

SoldierBoy: Spoke to him 3 times last week.  He is going to try to sell his beloved truck.

CarKiller: We got a few letters this week.  He called for 30 seconds or so last Monday.  I wish he’d use a payphone so he can talk.

GuitarGirl: HSM2 rehearsals begin this week (9-1) and ASU rehearsals continue (6-10p)  She’s going to sleep like a rock.

MissKaboom:  is SO excited that she gets to go to the Jonas Brothers concert in less than 2 weeks! She was invited by a friend when they ended up with an extra ticket.

MissCreativity: is also VERY excited… she gets to go to the Jonas Brothers concert, too!  The friend that invited MissKaboom is also good friends with MissCreativity. I think she “eenie, meenie, miney, mo’d” who she would invite!  Anyway, Chief decided to look for tickets one more time (when he last looked the tickets he found were running $200 – 800 each!!!!) and found some that were “reasonably priced.”  MissCreativity invited her friend MissBrit to come along to the concert.  They’ll have a blast!

LittleDood: has started to be a little sneak.  hrmph.  Whenever he has to eat something he doesn’t want to do, he tries to hide it.  Of course, it’s 3 year old hidden, so it’s obvious that those napkins and cup on top of them are concealing something!  I need to get a picture next time.

The Homefires:

Kitchen – We had to get another grill yesterday.  Getting replacement racks for our old grill (which is otherwise fine) is such pain.  We have to go to the manufacturer, they are terribly expensive and on backorder for another month.  We just “can’t live” without our grill, so we got another of the same brand, but a bit smaller.  We will replace those grates once they’re back in stock and have 2 good grills.  I think that’s fine as I’m praying very much that CarKiller and SoldierBoy get assigned to the military installation right down the road.  If they do, they can come eat with us and bring friends and we’ll be able to cook for an army!

In our my craft room: still working on the colorful sleep sack and WILL work on some socks for the 52PP.  I may knock out 3 pairs of baby socks so that I can get “caught up”

In our school: just trying to finish up

Lucky Room(s) of the week: in the blink of an eye, the room CarKiller left behind become a “storage area” for all of the STUFF we have to go through and purge, so I hope to get through that this week.

My Reading

Still reading:

  • The Fulfillment of All Desire
  • Remember this book that I found? Well, I started it, but I’m not sure how I feel about it. It has great endorsements, but this jury is still out!

Remember the above statement?  Well the jury is still out as I’ve not even for a moment thought to try to read it more.  I think that may be telling.

My meditation for the Day (Week!)

    1 John 5:5-8

Who (indeed) is the victor over the world but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?  This is the one who came through water and blood, Jesus Christ, not by water alone, but by water and blood. The Spirit is the one that testifies, and the Spirit is truth.  So there are three that testify,  the Spirit, the water, and the blood, and the three are of one accord.

      Love the picture!! LOL!

I’m looking to go to the ASU performance on the 19th. I need to buy my ticket. Does Guitargirl have to sell tickets? If so, I’d rather get it from her. Otherwise, I’ll buy one from the box office.

      • No, she doesn’t sell tickets. You can get them at the box office or online. ( vlatheatre.org ) Between 4 & 8 rows back, in the center is our favorite place to sit.

We haven’t decided when to go yet, but there is a family and friends performance on the 17th that we may go to… I guess we’d better decide so we can get good seats!

Hi Knit! That picture is so adorable. When I miss you I remind myself you have your blog. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts, scripture, and devotions. They definitely inspire me and I’ll bet others too. I’m going through another rough patch but I’m trying to get myself centered and focused on my faith. -Elaine
