101 Wednesday, Vol 2

I haven’t had a lot of time to put into this week’s 101 Wednesday.

I have decided to give you the Church’s teaching on marriage in one sentence.  Here is a paragraph from the universal catechism.  It’s so meaty!  One sentence that can easily be broken down into a 2-hour presentation! (I know.  We’ve done it and run out of time!)

1601 “The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament.

I love how “whole and holy” God’s plan for marriage is and I love how consistently the Church upholds it.  I thank God for the Church’s unwavering stand for marriage.  One day I may write a little more about it!

  1. Oh wow. You’re right, just by going through each of those points you underlined, you could talk forever! I’d love to hear it – so much good stuff there!

I hope you find that day to write more about it! Thanks for sharing this “meaty” sentence!
