Flowers and balloons and TheBoy's gift of one of his cars and Mary Clare's "first Polly" from Milky White. Happily, her little blue, glass heart rosary is still there and it looks great!

The kids have a tradition of gathering and placing pinecones on Mary Clare's grave. This year we noticed 5 baby graves with no proper markers. 3 had temporary markers, still, one had a cracked and faded little pinwheel and nothing else, and the last had nothing at all. So the kids placed pinecones on those, too.

They also placed a pinecone on Summer's marker. Summer shares a birthday and year with Mary Clare, so we always feel a little attached to her. The Queen of Hearts is always the first to greet her with a cheery, "Hi, Summer!"

For the last couple of years, families have been hanging windchimes from the tree in BabyLand. This year I had one and we remembered to bring it! (we have the same one hanging on our back porch.)

Obviously, silk or other fabric flowers are a good choice for a grave as they last. The kids showed me this bouquet on one of the babies' graves. That is Our Lady of Guadalupe on those blue roses.
