Tragedy and Grief – Please Pray

Sad update.

Earlier today, I posted an entry asking for urgent prayers for Mary Ellen Barrett’s oldest son, Ryan, who had been missing since last evening.  Ryan has been found.  Unfornately, he drowned.  Please continue to hold his family up in prayer.

May his soul, and the souls of all of the faithful departed
through the mercy of God,
rest in peace.

Lord, comfort his grieving family and friends.

Mary Ellen B’s son, Ryan, was out on a father/son camping trip and has been missing since 5pm Thursday night (13 August 2009).    )

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help,
or sought thine intercession
was left unaided.

Inspired by this confidence,
I fly unto thee,
O Virgin of virgins, my mother;
to thee do I come,
before thee I stand,
sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

How incredibly sad. Praying for the family.

I was having a hard time coming to grips of sadness at a great uncle’s funeral today. I prayed a lot during the service. I also repeated what I remember of the prayer you sent me. Thank you so much for being there and bringing a new life into my prayers.
