If you are a home educator and are either considering a switch to Mac computers or if you are already a Mac user and are ready to get a new one, Apple has a special going on right now.
Homeschoolers qualify for Apple’s Education Discount. It is roughly 20% off of retail. Generally, military families (NOT at an APO address, they don’t ship to APO addresses, but perhaps you can have one shipped to a family member who can then ship it on to you) need to compare prices at the PX before deciding where to buy. This promotion, however, beats the pants off of the PX prices, though, as you get an iPod Touch for the price of the tax you pay on it. The rebate is limited to $229, so if you get a larger Touch you will not get it for free, but for a substantial discount.
I got in on this deal last year and got an iPod Touch for $25. This is a REBATE program. You have to purchase the iPod and then put in for the rebate. When I did it, I claimed the rebate online and the check came within about a week.
Apple will inscribe your iPod for free if you want. If you choose to do this, check and double check what you put in the boxes because what you type is what you get! This could make a great birthday or Christmas gift for someone (even yourself!) if you’re going to be purchasing anyway.
The promotion ends on 8 September 2009.
