Reflections on the Day for 8 March 2009.

It’s been nearly summer outside… definitely spring like.  We’ve got about 4 days of rain ahead of us, though.  Yuck.  We need the rain, but I am dreading the dog mess.

Plans for this week – Redeployment/Lenten Cleaning and school stuff (yeah, stuff!)

I am wearingcamel colored skirt, brown short-sleeved sweater, bare feet and legs shorts and a tank top!

I am feeling – toasty.  with the weather starting to move in, it is getting a bit more humid than it has been.  The wind has dwindled down to nothing, so I am feeling toasty! (update:  turned the a/c on!  It’s not even as hot as it was last week, but the humidity it killing me and the house is much hotter than it was all week.)

I am hearing – Birds singing, traffic and something on the television

I am thankful for – Jesus!  And His Beautiful Mother!  And also, painless feet.

I am wondering why – making a menu is such a chore!  Ugh.

I am contemplating – What I’ve been reading in the de Sales book and Genevieve Kineke’s book Authentic Catholic Woman.

In prayer – Chief and all of our kids, all of my friends and family,  and especially, my goddaughter B., who seems to be having some sort of  spinal trouble or something!  She’s “out of whack” and I’m praying for a miracle.

The Children:

Honestly, they’re all fine.  Nothing to report, really!

The Homefires:

Kitchen – Still working on menus

In our my craft room: NOTHING.  I’ve not even knitted for quite a while!

In our school: Starting a new week is always hopeful!

Lucky Room(s) of the week: Deep cleaning “schedule”:

Monday:  Front Room (play room) and front hallway

Tuesday:  Living Room

Wednesday:  Kitchen

Thursday:  Laundry Room and Craft Closet

Friday:  Spare Room and LittleDood’s Room

Saturday: The rest of the bedrooms and upstairs hallway/linen closet

Sunday:  no special task

Monday:  Back Porch/Back Yard

Tuesday:  Front Porch/Front Yard

Wednesday:  Prizm/Suburban

Thursday:  Bathrooms/Mopping

(of course, this assumes that sand storms don’t delay any of Chief’s flights…

UPDATE:  Chief has missed his first scheduled flight out of Baghdad due to dust storms.

At this point, I hope he can still make it to Kuwait and out of country on time…

the longer he is delayed, the more likely his arrival home will be delayed.

Please pray.  It’s time for him to come home!)

My iPod –  Need to decide what’s next

My Reading – chose Sermons for Lent by St. Francis de Sales for lenten reading. I am so loving it so far.  Also picked up  Genevieve Kineke’s book Authentic Catholic Woman.

My scripture meditation for the Day

Letter to the Romans 8,31-34.

What then shall we say to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but handed him over for us all, how will he not also give us everything else along with him? Who will bring a charge against God’s chosen ones? It is God who acquits us. Who will condemn? It is Christ (Jesus) who died, rather, was raised, who also is at the right hand of God, who indeed intercedes for us.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing:

A scene worth repeating! Chief, LittleDood, and CarKiller when Chief returned from Iraq 9 months ago

A scene worth repeating! Chief, LittleDood, and CarKiller on one of Chief's returns from Iraq. Please, God, we're done with this deployment thing!
