Our 5th child, MilkyWhite (8), is having a terrible, terrible time with all of the upcoming changes in our family. Oldest brother is already deployed. Dad is about to be deployed. Second oldest is about to enlist in the Army. She’s overwhelmed by the vacuum that will be created when they leave. We are doing our best to help her and last night we made some progress, but it’s been very hard. If you find you have the time and the heart for a prayer for a sad 8 year old in Texas, I would be most grateful.
Last week we found a moth cocoon on the back of the baby’s Peek-a-Block Farm. This threw me into a bit of a panic…. Moth… wool… knitting…. but it is science. So I put the toy up on the mantle so we could keep an eye on it. Earlier this week, we noticed the cocoon had a visitor:
This moth stayed a couple of days. One morning it was gone and I haven’t seen it flitting around or threatening my yarn stash. Wonder where it went to? We haven’t observed any changes or movement within the cocoon. But we’re still waiting.
My husband and our youngest girls were playing a Colonial Times/Pioneer Times (they morphed them together!) adventure out in the back yard this week. They “hunted buffalo” for food and then “cooked” it over a fire…… in our back yard…..
Sometimes… I wonder…..
Baby brother watched safely from his swing:
Baby brother also had his first strawberry shortcake this week:
He liked it!!!!
All in all it has been a good week.
It’s time to get everyone ready for Mass. Maybe we’ll get there in time for confession. Maybe. If not, there’s always tomorrow…
