Norah Update

It has been confirmed that Norah’s tumor is malignant. BUT the doctors ALL used the word CURABLE!!!!!   However, the poor little dear is facing a year of chemo (which will require about 3 days of inpatient per month.)  She will also undergo radiation.  Please keep her and her family in your prayers.

Making it More Real

I’ve been trying to come to terms with something that seems to be on our horizon. I’ve not wanted to blog about it, though I’ve spoken to a few good friends about it.
My husband had a good job here before he went to Iraq. It was work that he (mostly) enjoyed, with a [...]

Love is for Every Day

I love my husband every single day.  He love me everyday.  We love our children everyday.  Valentine’s day is not usually a huge deal in our house, normally.  My husband always gets our girls flowers (even while in Iraq!) though and he usually gets some for me, too.  I love it when he gives me [...]

Suffer The Children

Just a note about the image in my header:
This is a portion of the print I have hanging in my living room. The work is called “Suffer the Little Children to Come to Me” by Vlaho Bukovac, a Croation artist from the late 19th/early 20th century. My husband bought our print while he [...]

Face Lift

Gave the page a little face lift….  I was ready for a change.  Hope you like it.  I think I do.

Remember Man That Thou Art Dust

and Unto Dust Thou Shalt Return!
Really, I have nothing much to say today.  It is Ash Wednesday, we’re on the road to Easter!  This is good!  Time to take self-discipline seriously, to “fast” and to “give alms.”   May we all be changed this Lent!

Welcome, Blaise!

A very special friend gave birth to her 6th child yesterday.  Please welcome baby Blaise!  Thank you, Lord that you kept him and his mom in the palm of your hand!
Congratulations, K&D!!!!

Surrounded by so Great a Cloud of Witnesses….

Please keep my friend, Jennifer, in your prayers.  She announced last Friday that she and her husband were expecting a little one and today she shared with us that her little one has gone home to God.  Our little group has another little saint and we are all grieving the loss of this little one. [...]

An Egg, Not a Scorpion

I want to count your eyelashes as you lay sleeping in my arms, so at peace, so content, so trusting. I love to hear your precious breathing, steady, strong, yet so gentle. Watching you, holding you, loving you, so serene and tranquil, fills my heart with great joy. Though even as you [...]

Excused Absence!

Really, my absence is excusable. It really is. Life has a way of grabbing hold of me and not letting go! Time really is not my own, though I often find myself kicking against the goad, trying to make it my own. This rarely has good results!
Since last November, things [...]

What City Am I?

You Are Austin

A little bit country, a little bit rock and roll.
You’re totally weird and very proud of it.
Artistic and freaky, you still seem to fit in… in your own strange way.Famous Austin residents: Lance Armstrong, Sandra Bullock, Andy Roddick

What American City Are You?
Thanks to KC over at The Cabbage Patch for this one!
