  • The Word Everyday

CatholicContent.com has a cool little widget that feeds the Mass readings into a neat little frame everyday. Unfortunately, wordpress does not allow me to put it on my page. So, instead, here is a link to the daily readings on the Bishops' site.

  • Praying for Our Godchildren

Lord, bless and protect these Godchildren you've given us. Keep them in your constant care and help them to grow in knowledge and love of you! Guide their parents as they impart to them the most important things in their lives: to know, love and serve you and to obtain, by Your grace and mercy, heaven one day! Assist us as we assist them and keep us ever mindful that we are always an example to these children just as we are to the children you've given directly to us. Help us to be good and holy examples! God, please bless: JC JC BC AC JC JC M&M NG SW HW AW

    So Glad

    by Tree63

    (partial lyrics)

I want to jump - I’m so scared

I want to swim - don’t want to get wet

How do I get to you- what do I have to do?

I want to pray - I need sleep

Don’t want to sow, I just want to reap

I know what you’re going to say: there’s something in the way

Will it ever end, this war inside me?

    I’m just so glad

That what I can’t, you can

    And where I end

    That's where you begin

    I'm just so glad...

We’re Baaaaaack!

We’re back from our loooooong trip to see our soldier return from Iraq. I’m so glad to know he’s stateside! He’s got a cell and we can call him whenever we want! Well, I will give him some space as he’s going on a little trip with his buddies this weekend, but it’s nice to know I can call him!

Now we’re counting down to my husband’s R&R! It will be nice to have him home for a couple of weeks. I know he needs the break as he is working very hard in a high stress job. I am hoping to make this some real downtime for him so he feels refreshed when he needs to return.

I’ve already made a list of about 20 meals I think he’ll enjoy while he’s here. Other than that, I’m going to let him decide what, if anything, he wants to do while he’s home. I’m trying to get as much Christmas shopping done so that I don’t have to bother with it while he’s here.

Everyone is doing well other than my being stuck on eastern daylight savings time. I’ve been getting up at 0330 and unable to get back to sleep. It stinks, but eventually I’ll get straightened out!
