That I am a strong, courageous person. I don’t mean for it to sound arrogant. I just think I am normally pretty strong.
But there is this little weakness in my armor. It’s my heart. Most of the time my head can keep it captive. Most of the time I assess [...]

I was feeling down. The funk worsened as the day progressed.
I waited and waited for the flowers I knew my husband had sent me. I waited and waited and waited some more. 5 p.m. came and went. 5:30 p.m., 6:00 p.m. Apparently it got missed somehow. No delivery today. *sigh*
Around [...]

Someone just shared this with me today. I’ve not seen this one before. The song is wonderful.

I am surprised to find this this morning:
Imagine what it would be if I were funny or witty or profound? (and no, my visits here don’t count, so I didn’t do it myself! :P)

I finally spoke to the contractor. He is going to come by tomorrow and finish the job. His wife is seriously ill and is an inpatient in the hospital. Understandably, he does not want to leave her alone there. His mom is driving in today and will be able to remain [...]

There are 3 places on the internet that I look to when I’m writing or changing my household schedule or routine. There are forms on two and a general how to stuff on the third.
The first is The Fly Lady. She offers lots if tips for getting it together. Her method is [...]

Maybe some of you have seen it. There is a funny little email that makes it way around the world every couple of years. It’s about “Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder ~ AAADD.” It starts out like this:
I decide to water my garden.
As I turn on the hose in the driveway,
I look [...]

A friend shared this Suspice (offering of self) with me. I found that it is credited to C McAuley.
My God,
I am yours for time and eternity.
Teach me to cast myself entirely
into the arms of your loving Providence
with a lively, unlimited confidence
in your compassionate, tender pity,
O most merciful Redeemer,
That whatever you ordain or permit
may be acceptable [...]

I am going to be very, very busy getting everything together to start school early next week. Finishing the school room, rewriting a rule/routine/schedule, writing out lesson plans, clearing the clutter off of my desk, stocking the fridge. The kids need to get their rooms in tip-top shape so that isn’t something weighing [...]

After being “blown off” by our contractor repeatedly, I learned today that his most recent disappearance was due to his wife’s breast cancer returning. Unfortunately, it returned with a vengeance. It has spread and is already in her bones.
Now I wish he had called me when he wasn’t coming for a [...]
